WIELDER SELECTION SCREEN
Tapping on the Competency Trials button in the Tactical Terminal opens the Wielder Selection screen of Competency Trials.
You are given 3 Wielders to choose 1 from to take into Competency Trials. The 3 Wielders will be chosen at random from the Wielders that you have. If you have Wielders that you haven’t completed Competency Trials with, they will be put in the rotation. If you have completed Competency Trials with all of the Wielders that you have, your top 3 Wielders will be given as choices.
Completing Competency Trials will help to strengthen the Wielder that you complete it with so we highly recommend completing Competency Trials with each of your Wielders.
You can tap on the Trial Cert at the bottom left of your screen to see which Rewards you can acquire.
Once you have chosen a Wielder and entered Competency Trials, you will have to pass the Combat Techniques Tests using your chosen Wielder alone and for the 10 Competency Trial battles that follow, your chosen Wielder will be locked as part of your team of 3 Wielders.
COMBAT TECHNIQUES TESTS (also referred to as TECHNICAL TRIALS/SKILL TEST)
The first part of Competency Trials is the Combat Techniques Tests (also referred to as Technical Trials/Skill Test) in which you will use your chosen Wielder to pass any 4 of the 9 available Tests.
It is important to understand your chosen Wielder’s Skills, strengths and weaknesses. Choose the 4 Tests that your Wielder’s skill sets have an advantage in. You can reattempt the Tests as many times as you want within the time limit for the Trials (the time limit is for both the Combat Techniques Tests and the Competency Trial battles combined) which you can find at the top center of the screen.
The 9 Tests are as follows:
•Skill Battle Trial: Defeat a Titan Monster within 145 seconds.
•Duel Trial: Defeat your mirror image.
•Obstacle Trial: Dodge traps and obstacles to reach the goal within 45 seconds.
•Defense Trial: Use the traps to defeat a Razor Monster. Wielder Attacks have no effect.
•Assistance Trial: Protect your ally from the Troll Monster for 30 seconds.
•AOE Trial: Defeat 25 Core Box Monsters that appear in packs of 5 before they escape.
•Damage Trial: Inflict 18000 Damage on the Obscura Monster within 30 seconds. When the Obscura Monster’s Shield is broken, it will enter a Weakened State during which it takes 100% extra Damage.
•Chase Trial: Defeat the Sickle Monster before it reaches the goal.
•Steal Trial: Avoid the Razor and Mantis Monsters and unlock 3 supply chests within 45 seconds.
DISASTER RESPONSE TEST (also referred to as COMBAT PRACTICE/EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEST)
The second part of Competency Trials is the Disaster Response Test (also referred to as Combat Practice/Emergency Response Test) in which you will use your chosen Wielder with 2 more of your Wielders in — battles.
The testing ground is a virtual reality version of Confluence.
Your Wielder will be at the normal Stats and Star levels. All your equipped Kageso and Bonus Attributes will affect your Wielders normally.
Completing the Disaster Response Test with a Wielder for the first time will grant you +5 to the chosen Wielder’s Cost Limit, 20 of the chosen Wielder’s Wielder Soul Shards, and a Rare Kageso. If your chosen Wielder was the recommended Wielder in the Wielder selection screen, you will also receive 100 Dust and 5 Soul Shards. For each time you complete Disaster Response Test (including repeat completions), you will receive 1 Soul Core and 1 Butterfly Brooch.

1. This is a Trial for testing the Wielder’s various combat capabilities.
2. Each session of Wielder Competency Trials lasts 24 hours. During the Test Time, Commanders can choose any Wielder as the Competency Trials Candidate. Once confirmed, the Candidate cannot be changed for the session of the Trials.
3. The Trials are divided into 2 parts:Combat Techniques and Disaster Response.
Candidates must complete 4 of the 9 Combat Techniques. Each of the Technical Trials can be Challenged repeatedly.
Complete 10 Stringent Trials to acquire the Wielder’s Cert of Competence.
