The Eternal City Toolbar Help

Below are described the various components of the Eternal City Java Toolbar:

Navigation Compass

The Toolbar's Compass Icon is a directional and navigational aid. When your character is in a room or area in The Eternal City, the primary exit available in each compass direction will light up. You may click on these lit compass points with your mouse to have your character proceed in that direction.

Note that secondary exits appear only in the room description, and are not be displayed in the Compass.

Environment Icon

The Environment Icon indicates the lighting and weather conditions of your character's location. You may also click on the Environment Icon as a shortcut to The Eternal City's weather command.

Action Panel

The Action Panel provides quick access to a series of verbs available to your character in The Eternal City. Some verbs may require a direct object. When this is the case, you will be prompted to type in the object on which you would like to perform the verb.

Macro Panel

Using the preferences command, you can replace the Action Panel with the user-definable Macro Panel. To assign commands to the buttons, click on a button and enter any command up to 120 characters long.

Status Bars

The four Status Bars track your character's overall health, energy (fatigue), encumbrance, and satiation.

Health Indicators

The Health Indicators give you an at-a-glance state of your character's health. Green lights signify healthy body parts. When your character begins to sustain damage, these lights may change to yellow (for moderate amounts of damage) and red (for severe amounts of damage).

When clicked, the Indicators provide additional information about each part of your character's body

Status Indicators

The series of indicator lights to the right of the Health Indicators provides feedback about the status of your character. When a given condition or status change takes place (that your character is aware of), the appropriate indicator will become lit. Clicking on each of the Status Indicators will tell you what it does.
