The Toolbar's Compass Icon is a directional and navigational aid. When
your character is in a room or area in The Eternal City, the primary exit
available in each compass direction will light up. You may click on these
lit compass points with your mouse to have your character proceed in that
direction.
Note that secondary exits appear only in the room description, and are
not be displayed in the Compass.

The Environment Icon indicates the lighting and weather conditions
of your character's location. You may also click on the Environment Icon
as a shortcut to The Eternal City's weather command.

The Action Panel provides quick access to a series of verbs available
to your character in The Eternal City. Some verbs may require a direct
object. When this is the case, you will be prompted to type in the object
on which you would like to perform the verb.

Using the preferences command, you can replace the Action
Panel with the user-definable Macro Panel. To assign commands to the buttons,
click on a button and enter any command up to 120 characters long.

The four Status Bars track your character's overall health, energy
(fatigue), encumbrance, and satiation.

The Health Indicators give you an at-a-glance state of your character's
health. Green lights signify healthy body parts. When your character begins
to sustain damage, these lights may change to yellow (for moderate amounts
of damage) and red (for severe amounts of damage).
When clicked, the Indicators provide additional information about each
part of your character's body

The series of indicator lights to the right of the Health Indicators
provides feedback about the status of your character. When a given condition
or status change takes place (that your character is aware of), the appropriate
indicator will become lit. Clicking on each of the Status Indicators will
tell you what it does.
